Advent Boxes!

As soon as I saw these lovely little boxes I thought of Advent!!!  When made up they measure approx 5cm cubed and are very sturdy.  I love the way that the scalloped top folds down into the box for closing, though you do need to glue this fold for extra strength.

I have painted the scallops and then used glittery paper for the rest.  As I was going for a country look they have been strung with string and kraft card used for the number tags.  You can still open them strung like this but they would look fantastic hung individually on the tree. They also stack very well so you could have an Advent Mountain haha   Here they are in all their glory, though its tricky to get a 'nice' pic of them altogether hahaha!

Oh and wouldn't these make brilliant favour boxes or just boxes for that special little present?  Thanks for taking a look today, HUGS, Karen x

Altered Arch

I've had a play with one of the ~{Gothic Arches}~ to make a small gift and I'd forgotten how lovely they are!

I've painted it with gesso which I've then heated to get this gorgeous bubbly texture before painting with acrylic paints. I also used sprays, stamps and doodled a lot!

I got the gesso VERY hot to make it bubble as much as possible and it had no effect on the chipboard base. It remained flat and had no bend in it at all.

Perfect Love Forever tag book

This altered  mini tag  book was made for Tando Creative November color challenge, but as I really used a lot of Tando products and even more techniques, I decided to show it here too and not only in our challenge blog.
So here is an overall  look of this tag book and as you can see I used blues and browns only.

Each tag has it's own word sticker (MLS) , so it's very easy to understand what I am talking about.
The first one is PERFECT tag:  MME stamps stamped with white Clearsnap ink, heat embossed with clear Ranger powder and then heavily misted with Tattered Angels mists for this resist look. The bird was colered with Ranger white enamel paint and I misted from the high level  into the wet paint for this spotted look .
The frame was inked, misted and then a twine was added using the existing holes.
The second tag- LOVE- was misted using Tando Music mask and then I stamped over it with Viva Las Vegastamp- Script one and brown ink. The bird here was just misted and I added some glitter over the wet mist.
The last- Forever- tag, was double misted. The first layer was this Tando Lattice mask and then I added some bird mask over it. The bird here was misted and then stamped, the swirl misted and then inked, and I used just a small part of this huge swirl (it was broken in a mail, so I cut  this part for this mini project..
The final touches were some Epiphany Crafts epoxies, Prima flowers, Tim Holtz key, some more twine and misted to the same color white silk ribbon.

Wonky Trees

These little trees from the ~{Grab Bag of Wonky Trees}~ are perfect for cards and tags and are so funky.

I've just glued patterned paper on them, coloured the sides and doodled a border before attaching them. I've finished them off with some glitter glue on the teeny stars.

Embossing with the Leaf Mask

Been playing around with this mask,   this time used it to emboss card through a big shot.

The outline of the leaves is de-bossed and filled with green gel pen.   Just a simple greeting and a strip of ribbon makes this little Clean and Simple card.

Don't forget our monthly challenges, there is a fab prize up for grabs every month...you get to choose...and you don't have to use any Tando products.  If you do  though, you get a double chance to win :o)

Window Art

This window art was first thought of 11 years ago, but it remained a thought until a couple of days ago.

The frames were coloured and filled with cellophane that was masked and spray etched.

One of the large swirls from 'Mixed Swirls' and two 'Heart Cogs' were sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer.    The Swirl used to link the three hoops is attached with glue and staples.   Staples hold the heart cogs.

Suspended on fishing line it is brighting up a back bedroom window.

My Gran

This is my Gran with my mum's wee dog. I have used Echo Park's new Times & Seasons collection on this layout. The ribbon, blossom, pearls and pins are also from our upcoming November embellishment kit. The curly tree is from Tando Creative and it has been coloured with a brown ink pad

Quick and easy Christmas card

Now it's November, we start panicking about making our Christmas cards. So I've used the ~{Hanging Bauble Mask}~ to make a very quick batch of cards.

I masked off the baubles and sponged the leaves onto a few cards, then masked off the leaves and did the baubles. I've just added some Stickles and a couple of gems and then a greeting stamp.
I used Brilliance inkpads throughout.
